Objectives

1. Promotion of Vocational and Technical Education

  • To promote, develop, and regulate vocational, skill-based, and technical education programs across various disciplines.

2. Curriculum Development and Standardization

  • To design, develop, revise, and standardize curricula aligned with industry requirements and emerging technologies.
  • To frame competency-based course structures with clearly defined learning outcomes.
  • To periodically review and update academic programs to maintain relevance and quality.

3. Accreditation and Affiliation

  • To grant Accreditation or Affiliation to eligible institutions subject to prescribed norms and standards.
  • To establish quality benchmarks for infrastructure, faculty qualifications, training facilities, and academic governance.
  • To monitor, evaluate, suspend, or cancel Accreditation in accordance with the Bye-Laws of the Board.

4. Examination and Certification

  • To conduct examinations, assessments, skill tests, and evaluations in a fair and standardized manner.
  • To issue certificates, diplomas, and other credentials to successful candidates.
  • To implement secure systems for result processing, record maintenance, and certificate verification.

5. Quality Assurance

  • To establish quality assurance mechanisms for continuous monitoring and evaluation of affiliated institutions.
  • To implement inspection systems, performance reviews, and compliance audits.
  • To promote best practices in teaching, training, and institutional management.

6. Industry Collaboration

  • To collaborate with industries, professional bodies, experts, and training partners to ensure practical relevance of courses.
  • To encourage industry-driven training models and workplace-based learning initiatives.
  • To promote entrepreneurship development and self-employment opportunities.

7. Inclusivity and Accessibility

  • To extend vocational and technical education to rural, semi-urban, and underserved regions.
  • To promote equal opportunity and non-discrimination in admission and participation.
  • To encourage participation of women and economically weaker sections in skill development programs.

8. Digital and Technological Advancement

  • To adopt digital systems for enrolment, monitoring, examination management, and certification.
  • To develop secure online verification mechanisms for credentials issued by the Board.
  • To promote the use of modern educational technologies in training delivery.

9. Governance and Ethical Standards

  • To operate with transparency, accountability, and integrity in all Board activities.
  • To establish grievance redressal mechanisms for institutions and students.
  • To prevent misrepresentation, fraudulent practices, and misuse of Board identity.

10. Research and Innovation

  • To encourage research, innovation, and development in vocational and technical education.
  • To organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and training programs for academic advancement.

11. Financial and Administrative Management

  • To collect fees and charges as prescribed for sustainability of operations.
  • To manage funds responsibly for achieving the objectives of the Board.

12. Other Incidental Objectives

  • To undertake any lawful activities necessary or incidental to the attainment of the above objectives.
  • To frame policies, regulations, and guidelines consistent with the vision and mission of the Board.
